the final holiday

the last time we shared my special margaritas in the swinging chair with our “feets” swinging “beneathus”

the grass was growing tall rampage chartreuse but you knew I would mow it before it broke too loose

hummingbirds flew and nearly clocked our heads; so brave these colorful rockets flying full steam ahead

grasshoppers arrived at our party which was only our party for two-

not sure what we ate but I’m certain it must have been good…knowing you we had chili cheese dogs…if there be a heaven I’m sure you’re still eating them there too

our speak was of thoughts, thoughts only we knew; we were going places of plenty, places of ice and blue

wow! we were such dreamers; for years and years that’s all we would do

but so soon after our quaintly ebullient party there wasn’t anything left of you

the memories still linger because these impressions always do but remembrances aren’t the same and they can’t enjoy cocktails for two.

My heart still aches at your loss; but, I take some solace knowing the joy and love you brought to each other’s lives! Daniel’s spirit is very much still with you, my love!!🙏💜

Oh Joey, it’s been hard this past year but I’ve surrounded myself with puppies and kittens to ease my loneliness and knowing I’ve such loving friends is getting me through 💙

Larry and I are thinking of you. The first year ends but another one starts. I think you’ve been brave and faced your loss and worked on it really well.
    Best, Dain
