the apologizing part of me

I’m sorry that I can be so hard on you as this was never my desire

I’m like a butterfly sprung from my chrysalis reaching for a star

I’m only one, not beyond my scope; I’m not something to abhor

I live by what’s called “nature’s law” and fear I’ll lose my sweet allure as I fade to be no more

but if I lose you I will not fret; you can only lose so much and then disregard all regret

and if you stay I will portray the the promised secret keeping Us all on board for still another day

but not today because it’s quite late so I’ll find you another time and figure it’s a date
