To be determined (#3)

Ok, where was I…?

Oh yeah, the Woolworth caper was where I left off. Well, did I mention that I was a bit of a rambunctious child? Did I mention I considered rules nothing more than obstacles to adventure (my adventures)?

So, “come on Jimmy, let’s get us some pocket pets”. It was never difficult convincing Jimmy into almost anything; he believed me; he looked up to me (though he was taller); he may have been my first boyfriend, as well. “Hey Jimmy, where are you today?” Anyway, when I asked Jimmy to jump he’d say, “how high” so I was never without my sidekick, never. For the record, I’ve never had a snippet of resistance getting the male population to acquiesce to most anything I desire and yes I’ve taken full advantage of this “power” to date.

Holding hands, Jimmy and I made our way through the backyard which was a shortcut to the major highway. All things considered, I understood the capacity and danger of automobiles and the like so we (I) had never a care, concern or fear…perhaps, Jimmy had some trepidation but he certainly was far from dropping my hand and he figured we’d be married one day so let’s just say, “he was blinded by love”.

Can three year olds fall in love? I surely had nothing but mischievous adventure on my mind; I still focus on the tantalizing aspects of life with all that I do. Sometimes, I wonder how I ever found time to love and for love, but I did and do.

Six lane highway or four lanes was what we faced; I’m just not sure. I can remember Jimmy’s hand so warm and sweaty grasping mine so tightly and me saying, “ouch you’re hurting me”. Boys aren’t as courageous as girls, if you ask me. If I look back on all my rapscallion behavior antics I can honestly say it’s better to have a girl as a sidekick if you want to get anything really interesting and exciting done.

Do we run or skip or just walk fast to get across? Gosh, he worried so much; what a silly scared boy…still he wasn’t letting go…of me.

(To be continued…promise, I do)
